  • What is the difference between umbilical cord blood-derived stem cells and EHL Bio’s adipose-derived stem cells?

  • Umbilical cord blood contains abundant hematopoietic stem cells, which is effective for leukemia, the major disease in children. But, the amount of mesenchymal stem cells is very small, about 1/1,000~1/100,000 of adipose-derived stem cells. Even if customer store their own cord blood, the amount of stem cells is fundamentally small, and also limited after stem cell cultivation, which makes it difficult to use continuously. Moreover, if customer did not store their own cord blood, then allogenous cord blood needs to be used, which may cause immune rejection.

  • What is the advantage of autologous stem cell treatment?

  • Autologous stem cells from customer's own tissue are injected into their body after cultivation. It has excellent safety than allogenous stem cell therapeutics and other medicines in a way of not having side effect such as immune rejection.

  • Are there any side effects after stem cell treatment?

  • There are no special side effects after autologous adipose-derived stem cells treatment. However, a survey of the symptoms that customers appeal after stem cell injection showed that most of the symptoms such as sleepiness, languor, body aches, fever, pain, and itchiness are improved within a week.

  • What is the excellence of adipose-derived stem cells in EHL BIO?

  • Can all diseases be cured by stem cells?

  • Adipose-derived stem cells are mesenchymal stem cells with high tissue regeneration potential and immune-regulatory capability which can be used for immune diseases and cell damaged diseases such as dementia, diabetes, stroke, myocardial infarction, liver disease, renal failure, and arthritis. It is still hard to guarantee that stem cells are effective for all cell damaging diseases, but studies have shown that stem cells have a possibility to improve all cellular damaging related symptoms because of the commonly known diseases are caused by cellular aging or damage.

  • Are there any specific defined cell numbers to administer depends on the disease?

  • Cell numbers are not yet defined for each symptoms. The specific dosage, period and sites for each disease are constantly being studied. However, Intravenous administration of larger numbers of stem cell may expect greater homing effect by distribute to various damaged or unhealthy site in the body. Currently, EHL Bio administering 100 million cells for local lesion site and 300 million cells for intravenous. Even though we are studying to define the right number of stem cells for each disease through clinical trials, we could say that the more treatment may has greater expected effect than less.

  • Can adipose-derived stem cells effectively repair liver damage?

  • According to various studies, mesenchymal stem cells are known to reduce the death of liver cells, promote liver regeneration, and significantly suppress the aging of liver cells. Furthermore, it reduces liver fibrosis and improve liver function by inhibiting and regulating the expression of TGF-beta1, colagen type I, alpha-SMA, and biochemical indicators such as serum creatinine, albumin, bilirubin, ammonia, uric acid, GPT, GOT, ALB, TBIL, and PT after stem cell treatment.

  • Can stem cells help end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients?

  • End-stage renal disease patients are vulnerable to infection due to their reduced immunity, and the damage to residual kidney function is accelerated by abnormal immune responses. Therefore, the immune response can be regulated by stem cells to prevent further destruction of residual kidney function and recover the condition of the body to alleviate the occurrence of kidney failure and complications such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease and improve the quality of life.

  • What effect does adipose-derived stem cells have on aging?

  • Several studies have shown that stem cells can overcome learning/memory impairment in old laboratory animal. Results show that administered stem cells localized in brain tissue of old animal models and differentiated into neurons, and their physical function has recovered similarly to young animal model. As a result above, the biological age has been changed to younger status after stem cell treatment by the improvement of cognitive and motor function of the body, which have been weakened by aging.   • How long can stem cells be stored?

  • Currently there is no use-by date for cryopreserved stem cells. Published research suggests that after decades of cryopreservation (-196 °C), stem cells show no degeneration. Which allows semi-permanent preservation of stem cells in liquid nitrogen.

  • What kind of facilities does stem cell cultured in? Is the quality inspection being managed properly?

  • The cells are collected from the patient and shipped to a GMP manufacturing facility specialized in the production of cell therapeutics. GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practices, and refers to a system of manufacturing that guarantees reproducibility of product quality to set specifications. EHL BIO control the quality of products such as microorganisms and pyrogenicity before release the product according to quality standards.

  • From what age can adipose-derived stem be stored?

  • Autologous adipose-derived stems cell can be stored in all ages if they are able to get a liposuction.

  • When is the appropriate interval time for repeated adipose-derived stem cell administration?

  • Based on our previous research, we recommend administration at a month apart. We recommend 3 to 10 time of administration at first although the number of doses varies depending on the disease.

  • Do I need to have another liposuction If I used all the stored stem cells?

  • Technology of EHL bio can massively culture stem cells from adipose tissue as much as the customer wants. Therefore, there is no need to have another liposuction for a life time.

  • Does the condition and effect of stem cells differ depending on age and body condition?

  • Stem cells have been tested for neurodifferentiation potential and the result shows that there are no significant difference between young and old. But, the present number of stem cells is fundamental small in old. Therefore, more expansion time is needed to cultivate the desired amount of stem cells. That is why we highly recommend you to store your stem cells sooner for to use the right amount of stem cells at the right time with better condition.

  • What are the precautions before and after adipose-derived stem cells treatment?

  • 1. Keep your body comfortable and do not overwork. 2. Do not stop taking medication on your own. Medication is available. 3. There might be a mild fever, chills, headaches, cold sweat, and drowsy, just like early cold symptoms for 3 to 10days after treatment. Depending on your physical condition, you may take medications (such as fever reducers). 4. It is recommended that you to abstain from drinking or smoking for 5 to 7 days after treatment. 5. It is recommended that you to refrain from strenuous exercise (marathon, tennis, mountain climbing, etc.) for seven days after treatment. Light exercise such as a light walking or swimming is recommended.
